why be vulnerable?
No one likes to be broken. No one likes to feel as if they have shattered inside and have nothing left to offer. And certainly that does not seem beautiful. I know. I was there.
"I'm fine." Words we often utter yet are rarely true. Many times I've uttered those words, mostly I was trying to convience myself that I was fine--reality said otherwise.
Being vulnerable is not comfortable. Admiting you cannot do it all on your own feels weak. Asking for help seems wrong. So, we don't. We wear a mask so no one sees who we really are, the ugly parts. We pretend all is under control so we appear to be handling life just fine. And we never ask for help, we simply adjust the mask--pulling it around us a little tighter.
But.
Inside, when you're alone, this isn't the life you want and it certainly isn't the future you envision.
HOW DO YOU TAKE OFF THE MASK AND BEGIN TO REALLY LIVE?
WILL LIFE CONSUME YOU IF YOU FINALLY ADMIT WHAT'S LYING BENEATH THE FAKE SMILES? AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE BROKEN?
